PRESSURE BOOSTER SKIDS

Corrosion Specialty Services can design and build pressure booster skid packages. These packages may consist of pumps, tanks, piping spools and all required instrumentation and controls.  We will work with your personnel to custom design a system to meet your exact needs.  These systems are typically completed in our shop and fully tested prior to shipping.  CSS can also send out our field service team to install and startup these systems at your facility.

These systems are frequently used for central cleaning systems, power washing systems, building water supply, and boiler feed applications.  All systems utilize premium efficiency motors to minimize energy consumption.  Most systems include constant speed motors.  Variable speed motors are incorporated when they offer an advantage for a particular application. 

The system shown on this page included a stainless steel control cabinet, (3) 40-HP Sunflo high speed pumps, skid, piping manifolds, back flow preventors, flow switch, temperature switch, pressure switch, orifice plate, and pressure relief valves.  This system was installed at a local brewery for their high temperature central cleaning water.  The pressure in the distribution piping had to be maintained above 600 psi at flow rates between 3 and 100 gpm, and a temperature of approximately 150 F.  The previous system had included RotoJet pumps which ran continuously regardless of demand.  That system was replaced to improve energy efficiency. 

The new system will run the pumps only when there is a  demand.  This can be caused by the cleaning of a production vessel, or by an operator using a hand wand to spray the production area.  This demand will cause one of the pumps to start.  If the demand reaches 35 gpm, a second pump will start.  The third pump starts when the demand reaches 70 gpm.  The system alternates pumps to equalize the run hours.  Our engineering team provided on-site support to optimize the system after installation.
